No Mall Jobs Necessary

I cannot resist commenting on the birth of Brad Pitt’s and Angelina Jolie’s baby. I admit to being intrigued by this story. When I saw the pictures of the baby with mom and dad, one of my first thoughts was empathy for Jennifer Aniston. Wow, pass the tylenol with codeine and let me sleep this day away. My next thought was “okay, the pictures are not bad.” Pretty “awwwwwwwww” inspiring, actually.

Steep money was paid for the rights to these images, therefore, heavy law enforcement has ensued. Nonetheless, Internet sitings occur: Dlisted. Imagine your newborn pictures bringing in millions. Imagine those millions going to charity. Imagine how much your trust fund must be if your parents who-love-you-oh-so-much are giving those millions to charity.

You know the ex-frat, jock, aging musician type that brings up that one game where they “almost pitched a no-hitter” or that one gig where they received a standing ovation from, like, twenty years ago, well she can always say, “well my baby pictures scored a cool $4.1 million”. Top that chumps. She can rest on those laurels forever. Will she try to prove her own worth and take to designing purses or jewelry ? Will she seek out true love in all the wrong places, ala Lisa Marie Presley or not so true love with all the wrong camera angles? Or will she turn out talented, secure and somewhat stable, think Collin Hanks, Kate Hudson.

But whatever path she follows, chooses or stumbles down, I don’t expect to find Shiloh twisting pretzel dough at the local Auntie Annie’s.
