Sidley & Austin, the famed law firm where Michelle (nee Robinson) met her future spouse Barack Obama, is representing Northwestern and one of its professors in a case involving their Medill School of Journalism’s Innocence Project. A Cook County prosecutor seems to believe that by subpoenaing students’ grades, email messages, reimbursements of students’ expenses, unpublished curriculum material, etc. related to their work on Anthony McKinney’s case, impropriety in their gathering of facts or perhaps an “engineering of evidence” may be discovered.
