To RV- Congratulations again and Happy Birthday!

That young gentleman could surely introduce me to all those doggone new-fangled, technological gizmos young-uns always seem to be playing with now-a-days. You betcha he could. What's Ewe-Tube? Is it like a wool covered spyglass?

To CP- Happy Birthday to you, too! May the Reagle Beagle surpass all expectations.

To John Ritter- RIP.

First of all, thanks for the kind words. Secondly, the issue with the barista is why the fear of having him think you're Demi Moore-ing him? A younger man could be entertaining. At the very least he could help get you acquainted with the Ewe Tubes and Eye-Phones all the youngin's be using. :)

To the conservative advocate of those who fish:

<em>"Certainly substantial"</em>- Please show me some statistics and I do not mean a headcount of the people in your family who meet the criteria. Also note that there exists a portion of people who fish and do NOT eat or sell what they catch, thus, do not contribute to the world's food supply. Finally, I rather give my money any day to the scientists who make food from chemicals (mmmm, aspartame) versus the slaughtering of living creatures.

Here's to evolution.

I wager that comic book readers possess greater IQs than, say, people who fish for a hobby. Just my opinion, but one on which I would place a bet.
---

Perhaps, but that doesn't account for the certainly substantial percentage of the populace who do both. And one can contribute food to society, the other can only contribute encyclopedic knowledge of the various Robins who have died alongside Batman...

bsmirk: Now I know how it feels to be slandered in the media. Ed had knots all over that we could not keep up with and they hurt to the touch. His new do is the standard lion cut given to him by his vet. Personally I think he likes it as he feels more free and no knots. He's not embarassed either, as he is just going on living his normal Ed life. I feel that giving him the haircut was the nice thing to do rather than to allow him to be all knotty.

I do not think you are gullible...if you are coming to that conclusion because of the whole quilty thing, well, you should know I was sincere in my belief that it was a word...always used to describe toilet paper.

I posted the following in January to another forum:

I've been around these parts long enough that my politics are pretty well
known, so this should say a lot. I would vote for any of the
Democrats...twice, WAY before I would cast a vote for Edwards. No other
candidate for major office in my lifetime has turned my stomach the way that
guy does. I'm talking literally, here.

Maybe it's because I spent too many years dealing with megalomaniac
plaintiffs' lawyers enamored with spinning elaborate white knight fantasies
about themselves, but his sanctimony and faux-populism absolutely set me
off! *He's the living embodiment of the word disingenuous.*

It gets better. He said this about President Clinton during thie impeachement era:

"I think this President has shown a remarkable disrespect for his office, for the moral dimensions of leadership, for his friends, for his wife, for his precious daughter. It is breathtaking to me the level to which that disrespect has risen."

Then there's this beauty, from December 2007...after he was already having the affair:
http://www.realclearpolitics.com/video_log/2008/08/cbs_news_december_07_interview.html

This guy can't possibly be villified enough. He's an epic scumbag.
